MANDATORY PLAYING RULES
DISCIPLINED PLAYER
1. A player may be disciplined by not being allowed to play in the game, provided that their name, phone #, and reason(s) that they are being disciplined are indicated on the line-up and the opposing Head Coach is made aware of this fact
prior to the game. Parents of players being disciplined must be notified of this fact prior to the game. Any disciplinary actions MUST be brought to the attention of the Executive Board and the Coordinator BEFORE any player is disciplined.
2. Any player that is ejected from any games by an official will be suspended from the following game and will not be eligible for All-Stars.
3. The President shall have the authority to call before the Board of Directors, any Team personnel, Managers, Coaches, Board Members, Parents, or Players whose conduct is detrimental to the League for the purpose of reprimand or dismissal from the program. Any Coach, Manager, or Player that is ejected from the game WILL NOT be allowed All-Star privileges. Any person(s) ejected must be reinstated by the Board.
4. Any Coach, Manager, Player, or spectator that physically or verbally abuses or threatens any person(s) while participating in SGF activities will be banned from AFSA.
5. Bat slinging is dangerous. In order to correct it, the offender and Coach will be warned if the Umpire judges it to be done excessively. After the first warning, any batter may be called out if they continue to sling the bat.
6. There will be no remarks make about the quality of a pitched ball until the catcher has caught the ball. Remarks made about the pitched ball could influence the batter’s swing, or lack thereof. There will be no remarks made to or about any player on the opposing team, this includes their ability or inclination in any situation. Coaches need to take any problems to the Umpires. The Coach and Umpire need to work together in this matter.
7. Alcoholic beverages and profane language are STRICTLY PROHIBITED at all times.
8. SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELDS OR IN THE DUGOUT. PER CITY ORDINANCE, SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN CITY PARKS.
9. Chewing tobacco must have a container with a lid. There is NO SPITTING on the fields. If any person is seen discarding their tobacco on the playing fields or on the dugout floor, they will be asked not to use the product while the games are going on. No one wants to see it or step in it while playing a game. If the behavior continues, disciplinary actions may be enforced.
